Famous scientist Edsger Dijkstra once said – ‘Computer science is no more about computers than astronomy is about telescopes.’ On the other hand, Alan J. Perlis has said, ‘Computer Science is embarrassed by the computer!’

While it has certainly aided the progress of almost all fields such as agriculture, government, medicine, films, fashion, entertainment, domestic life and other spheres, scientists continue to work towards developing a much smarter generation of computer interfaces.

Only recently, a group of young scientists have developed what can only be described as the way of the future. A digital interface so user friendly, it is unbelievable. Titled ‘Sixth Sense’, this technology allows the user to employ almost any available surface to carry out all his required computations and digital actions without the hassle of switching on a laptop or interface, as we know it today.

Developed by MIT scientist Pranav Mistry, Sixth Sense is a wearable ‘computer’ that uses natural hand gestures to access and interact with digital information. This is an interesting thing. Imagine if you were walking and you got an important call from office to forward an email to a client? You could use the palm of your hand as your keyboard, any available surface for the ‘monitor’ and even connect to the Internet with ease!

Such has been the advent of this branch of science in the development of computers that with this Sixth Sense technology, you can even click photographs just using your fingers! Your camera can sit at home!
